Is it just me or does comotized go from one issue to another?
I joined Snark the other day (love it, you should totally join me in my procrastination efforts there!) and left my standard ‘I’m a cheeseball’ introduction post only to find out that comotized randomly hands out 403 error pages!
Now I’m guessing (and was told by a fellow snarkian) that the problem resides somewhere in my .htaccess file. So I opened it up and dug through it.. and dug through it some more.. I got about ass deep before I figured out I had zero chance of finding and fixing the issue on my own.
I mean, let’s face it, I’m not the brightest crayon in the box. If I were a crayon I would probably be a moderately bright (here’s where the ‘dare to dream’ scenario comes into play) blue tone.
So now I’m sitting here wondering what the fuck I’m going to do and how the hell I’m going to fix it. The way I see it I have two options:
- Post the issue on snark, notify them of my stupidity and pray to god someone will pity me enough to help me out (I’m sure they would, they kick ass that way)
- Send an e-mail to a small orange and say ‘hey, I’m stupid, can ya help me find this little error thing??’
In either case I look like a dunce with a ten foot tall cone-cap on a 5′1 frame. Not the best way to present yourself, but there it is.
On top of that I’m almost dead broke. All of our (mom and I) cleaning jobs have cancelled for this month. So I made a grand total of $0.00 and spent.. god knows how much in gas.
I’m really starting to get pissed off. I’m used to not having a lot of money and that’s cool with me, I’m not the shopping type, what’s not cool is the fact that unless you know or screw someone within a company in this town, your ass ain’t gettin a job. Period.
I really wouldn’t care if I was dead broke all the time but with comotized being my outlet for what otherwise might hurt or offend those around me.. I’m starting to worry weather this poor little domain will make it another year. $29.95 (net bill + hosting bill + domain renewal cost) might not be a hefty bill to pay but when you’ve only got $2.00 in the bank and job hunting isn’t working out.. it’s the pits.
But that’s life, so what can ya do about it?

Have you tried disabling WP permalinks? When enabled, WP automatically updates your .htaccess.

Hey hun, I definitely feel your woes when it comes to web design. The other day I was trying to fix my perma link structures and i completely broke my comments functionality ~_~

Psht, I don’t think you’d look stupid! I doubt anyone expects you to just *know* but you could try searching around the ‘net (I’m not sure if you’ve already done this or not).

I hope you don’t lose your domain! But, worst case scenario, there are plenty of decent free blog hosts until you can get your own site back on the internets

I’d just send an email to ASO, they’re quite nice.
I’d mark your support ticket as like a high priority because 403’s are not good!

I haven’t been here in forever because I keep getting the 503 error. I finally asked myself, “Hmm… I wonder if Melissa is aware of the problem.” You are! Hope it gets fixed soon. I’d contact support at ASO and ask them WTF is up!
