The house across the street burned down last night. It has to be one of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen.
One minute the house was shrouded in darkness… the next engulfed in flame. Black smoke roiling up into the air with the singing fingers of flame entwined.
It took the fire trucks twenty minutes to reach the scene and ten to hook up the hoses. Nine fire crews are still outside an hour later trying in vain to extinguish the backside of what was once a beautiful home.
A blackened shell filled with shattered memories is all that remains.
Priceless antiques, an old teddy bear… the flames gave no mercy tonight.
Dwayne was burned trying to put out the fire. His face and arms burned, his hands a melted testament to his battle with the flames. He is the only living casualty amidst the mass homicide of worldly possessions.
Thank God everyone made it out alive.

Geez, that is really horrible
One of my worst nightmares
Wow. That is really sad. I’ve experienced something like that before. In the summer, there was construction going on next to our house on this forest or green lawn (I don’t know what it’s called but it’s a big place with grass) and we came back home from the trip to New Jersey and then we see a humongous fire and my sister called the cops and the firetrucks and all that came to our house. It was freaky. But no one was hurt. But man, if we didn’t come home earlier… our house could’ve burned!!!
Anyways, I LOVE your site and content! They’re very cute and awesome. And so are your smilies (but for some reason, I can’t use them.). Anyways, take care.. hope everything goes well.
woah. glad everyone made it out ok. still, how horrible
That’s terrible - I’m glad no one burned to death inside the house. I can’t even imagine what that family must be going through now - everything they have, gone. Do you know what caused the fire?
Oh my :O I can’t believe that…you saw the whole thing? That would make you feel so…I can’t think of the right word to describe it. Wow.
What happened to the family? Or was there only that one man living there, Dwayne? It’s a miracle that he’s alright. He’s very, very lucky. Still, the burns are not that pleasant..
That post was beautiful, how you worded it. It makes you feel like you’re there, watching the whole thing happen. It’s also very sad to read.
On a bit of a lighter note, I agree whole-heartedly with Abigail- I also love your site, your layout is gorgeous!
Keep up the good work.
