Have you ever wondered just how many thoughts your mind is actually capable of thinking? Or what would happen if those thoughts just stopped forming and ceased to exisit? I’ve found myself wondering about this a lot lately. There’s so much going on in my life and yet when it comes right down to it… I have nothing to say about it. I just keep pushing forward not really thinking about the events that have happened or those yet to come and often times I find myself trying to block them out when they do appear. I suppose it’s normal though… possibly.
I also wonder what would happen if your mind went into overdrive. Not normal overdrive where your thoughts appear one right after another but MASSIVE overdrive. Thoughts bumping into thoughts, jumping on top of other thoughts, pushing each other out of the way causing your mind to shudder in defeat and your mouth to stay closed or your words to stutter. Is that what shock is? I guess I’ll never know the answers. Then again my questions aren’t completely valid and don’t really make that much sense. Nor are they that important.
I think the important thing is for me to stop blocking the thoughts and stop pushing on in order for me to sit still and deal with the goings on around here. I’ve dealt with them, in my own way, but what if that way isn’t the right way? I could be going about it all wrong and I wouldn’t have sat down to take a moment and see it. There has to be another path hidden somewhere in the mist that I haven’t found and maybe, just maybe, if I sit still long enough the shroud will lift and I’ll stumble upon it… but how can you stumble when sitting?
One of the network sites I was working on is finished and ready for joining. It’s a topsite list. I got damn lucky to find the script that I did. This thing is really nifty. It even has a webring that registered members can place on their site. Which was supposed to be ‘Comotized Topsites Webring’ but after a little editing it is now the ‘Caffeinated Webring’ It has nothing to do with the forum I just love coffee and thought it appropriate.
Anywho, the topsite list can be found here. It uses 468×60 pixel banners. If you’d like to join but don’t have the correct banner size you can contact me and I’ll create one for you. Rank is based upon incomming hits/votes. It also tracks the number of hits to your site from the list just like normal ones do as well as other things. It has a rating/review system and comment system as well. Very nifty.
I found some disturbing news yesterday. It seems that Pixelated Pastels won’t be around much longer. After reading a few of the comments left by ‘members’ I can’t blame them. It’s just a shame. That was the first forum I ever joined and the members there were really nice. I’ll miss it. On a better note two project sites have been started in the wake of it’s demise. You can find the links at the Caffeinated MB. Just click on ‘random links’ in the side bar and they pop into the middle section near the bottom. One is a group blog and the other is a ton of things. Both are joinable and the people running them are very sweet. I myself plan on joining both of them for fun, and as a means of keeping contact when I get things situated over here. I have so many projects I have going on and new projects sitting in the back of my mind being debated upon. Both my forum members and my normal site visitors have lots of new things to look forward to
All the pages on here are now validated with the exception of the recommendation form, which has a few bits of code that can’t be deciphered and the comments page which I haven’t gotten to yet. There are now two network sites underway that should be finished within a week or two. Both are joinable and traffic related. They work as is but content is only part of a site so I need to pull out my heavy duty paint programs and get to work on a design.
Mini Bits .. mini kritter ball came today. I used it to my advantage and cleaned her cage while she ran around the room. It was so cute, I can’t even begin to explain it. Then again she really is a true delight to begin with. Pure entertainment when she isn’t throwing a fit over something. Twitter’s pop-it-up house came packed with it. So I popped it up like it said to and placed it in her cage. Apparently she has trust issues with the house and has been terrorizing it ever since it’s appearance. She goes in it then comes back out and pushes it over only to push it back into place and start the process over again
I finally got an application for the ‘Daily Grind’ which is a small cafe here in town. That would be the perfect job for me, so I really hope they hire me. Their drinks are good except for when this one little girl makes them. Then it ends up tasting like coffee flavored water. It annoys the crap out of me. I mean come on, you work at a cafe and don’t make it taste like coffee? Go back to 7-eleven and serve the slushies or something! Sorry but it drives me insane. If I wanted coffee flavoured water I’d get my mother to brew a pot of ‘coffee’ I don’t need to pay 3.50 for it. It’s bogus, period. Either make coffee the right way or don’t make it at all. So yeah, I hope they hire me. You should see the stuff on their menu :yummy: …
I have the strange feeling I’m supposed to be doing something right now, but alas, here I sit. I did laundry yesterday, cleaned my room and the cages today so I really don’t have anything to accomplish other than my website work. Relaxation could fit into the schedule somewhere but knowing me, that won’t happen.
Did I mention that I added new content to the site a few days back? I don’t think I did but better late than never right? In the ‘internet’ section there is a page of resources. Original I know but hey you can’t beat being pointed in the right direction. And my theory is, if I haven’t used it and found that it works or that it’s a beyond average product, I won’t share it. I love my visitors, even those who don’t comment on the blog and I’m not going to waste your time with a bunch of links that point to dead ends. That’s stupid and it’s a waste of your time, and mine.
I also added 7 winamp skins. They aren’t perfect considering they were first attempts but they work and they aren’t ugly. I think my favorite of the bunch would be Bjork Blossoms. I got damned lucky when I found that picture. It’s just a spectacular image of her and it fits her so well too. The quality of it is great too. Just picture me with my eyes bugging out and my mouth hanging open screaming ‘Hell yes!!!” I have issues, I know. Then again, who doesn’t?
First off I’d like to inform you I had a very nice birthday. No junk for me this year
Mini Bits (my baby mouse) got a new cage which he sorely needed. He’s now completely in love with it. His little mousey self ran straight to the wheel when I dropped him in and he’s been running his little heart out ever since. You can see a picture of the cage here.
Twitters (my pet rat) got a transparent round-a-bout ball to roam the house in. She didn’t like it at first but the Chinchillas quickly changed that. Soon after she started using her new ball as a torture device to chase the chinchillas  You can see her ball here.
All the rodent critters from baby mice to chinchillas got new food supplies. After that I picked up a container of gourmet, dark chocolate dipped, peppermint sticks and a light blue with dark blue trim carebear t-shirt featuring Funshine Bear in a circle rainbow saying ” C’mon Get Happy!” for myself. Like I said, no junk this year. And I’m glad of that. Most years I get a load of junk that I can’t do anything with so it really is best this way. Besides, I’m happy when my pets are happy.
Now on to the validation part of this post. Some of you who have been here before have probably, at one time or another, clicked the little ‘Valid XHTML’ link in the right navigation bar. For those of you who did you would have found that this page was NOT valid xhtml. Far from it in fact.
Well, I fixed that problem tonight. Right now it’s just this page (index.php) but after tonight the entire site will be all spiffy. I’m very proud of myself. I never used xhtml until this domain when Becca created the layout and coded it for me. Up until that point I always assumed that xhtml was a type of script code similar to javascript that I wanted nothing to do with. Shows how stupid I was eh?
I now know more about xhtml than I do html and I’ve been using html for years. Kind of amusing if you ask me. I would have validated everything sooner but I was busy and to be honest with you, I didn’t feel like it. Now I’m not busy, and I want my site validated so here we go into the land of hard coding. Though with me it’s more experiment and see what happens
