About Me

Me * Bee Date Applied: 08/12/2009

My name is Melissa, I'm 25 years old and live in a small city in Virginia, USA. I like to paint, read, take care of animals, hang out with my friends, cook, spend oodles of time on social networking sites, meet and greet new people as well as make my own jewelry and dabble around with most crafty/artsy things.

I'm a picky eater and refuse to touch onions, peppers, tomatoes, meat loaf or anything that smells or looks unpleasant. I don't wear shoes because I hate them and haven't worn a pair in over... 7 years or so. I also dislike arrogant, rude and most 'stupid' people and don't understand why we can't tie them up and cart them away to some random dark hole somewhere.

In a shorter style: I'm a short, quirky, loud mouthed, randomly goofy, coffee addicted, shoe hating 27 year old girl from Virginia.

My Retired Patches

CareBear on a hill This patch goes waaaay back to the days of 2003 when I first joined the quilting bee and owned a doll site named Tranquil Devil Dollz. Those days are long gone but I still love CareBears! My favorite is Bedtime Bear but the blue didn't mesh with the patches background which is why I did the purple one.. even though I can't recall his/her name o_O

Bear sniffing flowers Created when I rejoined the bee in 2004 under my 'new' and current domain name. It was inspired by a garishly cute, overly pixeled quilt design I spent.. god knows how many hours on. Kinda funny that I chucked that design in favor of a smaller/simpler approach a few weeks after. The patch itself features a teddy bear leaning toward, and sniffing, a bunch of flowers and a tiny little butterfly seems to have joined in on the fun by settling on his nose.

Monkey on the beach Created somewhere around the year of 2005 or 2006 to match a cute illustrated quilt design featuring hidden navigation in the form of cute animals, coconuts and even a palm tree! The patch shows a tiny little monkey sitting on the beach watching the ocean while his bunny balloon slowly floats away toward the rainbow.
